Nicholas Lorenzo, MD, MHCM, CPE, FAAPL, is a seasoned medical executive with a diverse background in neurology, healthcare management and entrepreneurship. He currently serves as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of University Medical Devices and the Founder and CEO of PHLT Consulting, a national healthcare consulting firm.

Dr. Lorenzo has leveraged his extensive knowledge and experience to found and scale multiple healthcare technology, education, information and clinical services startup companies throughout his 30-plus-year career. His companies have seen success through notable acquisitions from industry leaders including McGraw Hill, WebMD/Medscape, Gannett Communications and Walmart Health.

Dr. Lorenzo’s leadership roles span Chairman, Board Director, CEO, President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Publishing Officer and Chief Medical Officer. His remarkable contributions to the healthcare business field earned him the prestigious title of Fellow of the American Association of Physician Leadership in 2019.

With a vast record of more than 300 publications and extensive experience as a researcher, keynote speaker and lecturer, Dr. Lorenzo is recognized as a sought-after expert in healthcare education, technology and virtual clinical services. He has earned numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the America’s Top Physicians Award from the Consumers’ Research Council of America and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.

Dr. Lorenzo obtained his clinical training from renowned institutions such as the University of Nebraska, the Mayo Clinic and the University of Kansas and is a board-certified, subspecialty-trained neurologist. He also has extensive experience in the urgent care and telehealth markets. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Lorenzo holds an MS in healthcare management with high distinction from the University of Texas at Dallas and is a Certified Physician Executive via the American Association of Physician Leadership.
