Joseph Vandenack

Joseph Vandenack, JD
General Counsel

Guiding University Medical Device’s compliance efforts with robust knowledge of the law, Joe brings more than 35 years of diverse legal experience as General Counsel. His past legal work includes roles as a partner in a law firm and as in-house legal counsel for a closely held group of corporations.

Joe recently concluded more than 20 years as Corporate Legal Counsel, executive and member of the Board of Directors for a corporation group including Mid America Computer Corporation, HunTel Systems, Inc., and more than 25 other related companies in telecommunications, software and other industries.

Here, Joe led the acquisition, reorganization and selling of companies and provided oversight on taxes, investment allocations, employee benefits compliance, contract development and shareholder relations.

Joes’s time in private legal practice has focused on planning for income, sales and estate taxes, ERISA benefits, entity formation, commercial contracts, closely held corporate transactions and estate planning for the small business owner. His overall knowledge in many areas of the law and his business background are valuable assets to MicroWash and its clients.

Joe has served on the Boards of Directors of both for-profit and non-profit corporations. He was Chairman of the Business Law Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association for five years. He is currently a member of the Business Law and Real Property Sections of both the American Bar Association and the Nebraska State Bar Association.

Joe is active in his community. He volunteers with the Yutan Volunteer Fire Department as an Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter and previously as an Emergency Response Diver. He teaches ice rescue to Nebraska firefighters through Dive Rescue International. Joe served eight years as a member, and seven as President, of the Yutan Public Schools Board of Education. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Yutan Public Schools Foundation. Joe spent many years coaching youth basketball, softball and baseball.

Joe received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration summa cum laude in 1983, and his Juris Doctor with high distinction in 1985, both from Creighton University.
